Although the beach of Mui Ne isn’t as famous as Vietnam’s other stunning palettes of sand like Nha Trang and Phu Quoc island, adding this humble town to your Vietnam tour will most certainly leave you feeling refreshed and satisfied. As part of the Binh Thuan province, Mui Ne basks in the driest region of the whole of Southeast Asia, meaning the only time you’ll be getting wet will be when you enjoy a dip in the South China Sea.
About Mui Ne Beach
The beach here is arguably one of the most beautiful in the country and you will not struggle finding an adequate resort here to enjoy this part of your Vietnam Tour. There are numerous sand dunes in the area as well and you can even step up the pace by renting quad bikes for the day.
Mui Ne beach is famous as a kite surfers paradise and this stunning holiday destination is popular among both domestic and international visitors.
Below, we have taken the liberty of outlining some of our favourite attractions in this wonderful town and we hope you enjoy each and every adventure that Mui Ne has to offer. To get the most out of your stay here during this part of your Vietnam tour, may we suggest that you rent a bike.
This will cost between 8 and 12 USD per day, however the rewards will be well worth the expenditure. You can expect a lot of traffic here, so be sure to wear your helmet at all times!
Visit the White Dunes – Located roughly 25 kilometres away from Mui Ne town, the White Dunes are a popular retreat amongst tourists. While they are not strictly white, they are far paler in colour than most other sand dunes in the region.
The fact that they descend into a lotus lake surrounded by rich vegetation has created a serene and tranquil setting which is enjoyed by every visitor.
Visiting these dunes is free at all times, however you may wish to rent a quad bike to accentuate your expedition, an option which will cost 400,000 VND per hour.
There is also a small snack shop nearby where you will be able to purchase refreshments.
Drop by the early morning fish market – What better way to start your day than with a few mouthfuls of the night’s tastiest catch. During your Vietnam tour, you will have plenty of chances to sink your teeth into the inspiring local cuisine, however Mui Ne’s chaotic fish market will give you a real glimpse into the lives and culture of the local fishermen.
These humble people spend the entire night out at sea collecting an array of different seafood and return at 6am to flog their catches to local restaurant owners, traders and street food vendors. You will notice plenty of bargaining conversation and will find it difficult to resist taking a few snaps.
The Red Dunes – These dunes reek of resplendence and are a mere 20 minute drive from the centre of Mui Ne. It’s a fair bet that a visit to the Red Dunes will be one of the most memorable elements of your Vietnam tour, not only because they are a glorious sight, but also because the local children will make you feel right at home. Be prepared to have them swamp you with plastic surf mats and other such items, but aside from that, you’re likely to fall in love with this place.
Mui Ne Fairy Stream – Boasting more than 500 metres of winding stream, this tourist hot spot is well worth the walk to the end of Mui Ne Beach to enjoy. Gently negotiating its way through the limestone formations, rusty coloured dunes and fertile bamboo groves, the Fairy Stream will add something particularly special to your Vietnam tour. Stroll through the cool and refreshing water and enjoy the feeling of soft sand around your feet and you will even be able to visit a small enclosure populated with snakes, crocks and ostriches.
- This is just a small handful of activities you can enjoy in Mui Ne during your Vietnam tour, however there are countless others to choose form. The area around the town is riddled with secluded beaches, so why not take your other half for a romantic picnic, or if you’re feeling really adventurous, skinny dipping!
- The local cuisine is mouthwatering and varied to say the least and you will always find grilled red snappers, clams and mussles on the menu for just a few dollars.
Another fantastic selling point about Mui Ne is that you will be able to enjoy some of the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets you have ever witnessed.
- So from Your Vietnam Travel, we would like to welcome you to Mui Ne during this part of your Vietnam tour.
