It takes about 45 minutes to fly from the Cambodia capital Phnom Penh to the temples of Angkor Wat near Siem Reap, centre of the great 12th-century Khmer civilisation that built Angkor Wat and the dozens of other temple collections with a 10-mile radius. As always, overland travel will be far more interesting than flying, as well as better for the environment, and the journeys will be as much part of your travel experience as the destination cities and sights. From Phnom Penh to Siem Reap speedboat takes a bit longer, however it’s more worth than using a bus. it can be cancelled due to water levels are too low during the dry season between March and August. Travel is generally best during the wet season when water levels are high. it’s also a nicer way to travel, and you can sit on top and see the Highlights of visiting Cambodia, highly recommended. Tickets cost $35 and depending on the season and water levels, the trip can take between 6 and 8hours, approximately 251 kilometres
