Enjoy the wonderful ancient royal town of the UNESCO world heritage listed Luang Prabang. Located in the valley beside the Mekong River, Luang Prabang boasts of an outstanding blend of traditional Buddhist and European architectural styles. With no tall buildings that mar the townscape, the sweeping roofs of gleaming Buddhist temples and pagodas and tree-lined riverbanks will quickly enchant you.
To gain a deeper insight into the spiritual soul of the city, we will bring you deep into the limestone caverns of Pak Ou Caves to see the repository of Buddha statues and up Mount Phou Si to capture the spectacular view of the town at sunset. As you explore the town on foot or cruise along the Mekong River, witness the traditional way of life as you observe the Lao livelihoods of silk weaving, textile making and fishing.
Next, you will also get a chance to visit one of the biggest and most beautiful (i think) in Luang Prabang - being Kouang Si Waterfall, this is definitely worth the visit. End of 2nd day trip. You will have time to wander through the bustling hill tribe market in the evening for shopping. There aren’t many ‘mainstream’ shops in Laos in general. Much of the local shopping is to be done in markets. There is a large night market, every night in Luang Prabang, selling similar items, as in other destinations in South East Asia – bracelets, t-shirts, wooden products etc. There are also some small food stalls with local fare.
