Day 1: Chau Doc – Long Xuyen (L/D)
Your cruise departs around 10am from the Pier in Chau Doc. Upon boarding your private Mango Cruises, your luggage will be brought to your cabin, while you enjoy a refreshing coconut juice on the deck and meet the crew members. You will start cruising to Long Xuyen via Vam Nao District . Enjoy your lunch while cruising downstream on the Hau river. After lunch, you can bike through a local village to explore the local riverine culture and chat with the cheerful local kids. As you continue cruising, you will start to notice more houses on stilts and flooded fields. This area is prone to severe flooding and as result, is one of the ‘Delta’s poorest regions. On arrival at Long Xuyen, stop a visit the floating market of Long Xuyen and watch the sunset. Freshen up, and come to the deck where you will have a cooking demonstration before enjoying a delicious, 5-course dinner onboard while cruise to upper river near Sa Dec for overnight. The rest of the evening is spent at your leisure.
Day 2: Long Xuyen – Sa Dec –Cai Be – Phong Nam (B/L/D)
Enjoy Breakfast onboard your Private luxury Sampan before beginning a fulfilling second full day of cruising and touring the picturesque Mekong Delta. The cruise will head to Sadec through small river that will offer a better view of local life style along the way. Stop at a local village for a short bike ride or walk to have a greater chance to interact with the locals. You will start to explore the charming town of Sa Dec, the backdrop for the film ‘The Lover’, based on the semi-autobiographical novel of the same name by Marguerite Duras. The story is about a teenage French girl who falls in love with a wealthy Chinese man, Huynh Thuy Le. You will visit his old family home as well as the high school where Marguerite’s mother was a teacher. You will also have a bike ride to visit the Tan Qui Dong flower village that has supplied bonsai and flowers to Ho Chi Minh city and the neighboring provinces for many decades. The lunch will be serviced on board while cruise to Cai Be. Arrival in Cai Be, you will be explore the lively floating Market and its bustling township and enjoy the houses on stilts along the River bank and local business After that, the cruise continue to cruise tô An Hòa and stop at Ngủ Hiệp Village begin cycling, enjoying the peaceful scenery and quiet road pathways. In the late afternoon prepare for dinner on board. Overnight will be spent on board at Ben Tre
Day 3: Phong Nam – Ben Tre (B)
Breakfast will be served onboard while you are enjoying the sunrise and you will start to cruise to Phong Nam village. The cruise will stop first at the coconut processing, then stop at a brick making shop, where the locals still use centuries-old traditional methods to make the bricks by hand. At here, you will start a Bicycle trip around Phong Nam village around 4km, enjoy a casual cycling trip that will take you to visit a local rice noodle factory which produces Hu Tieu noodles, one of the most popular dishes in the region. Continue to your visit take a short walk to Mrs. Huong’s house, who lives with her 3 children and grandson – they live on fishing, shrimp and fruit orchards. Enjoy fresh fruits and tea in her garden and then board a rowing sampan, taking you through a lush narrow canal, displaying the tranquil nature of the region. Get Back to your boat and cruise to Hung Vuong Pier in Bentre town where you will be dropped off and transfer to your car for the drive back to Saigon or your onwards trip. End of tour.
